In short, Dre adapts to whoever is writing for him.

The difference is up until the Detox era, those writing for Dre adapted their style to Dre's delivery so that it sounded more like a natural Dre song. After the Detox era, Dre was adapting his delivery to whoever was writing for him, which led to awkward sounding songs where for example he's rapping like Kendrick because Kendrick wrote his verse.

He actually wasn’t. Dr Dre is probably the best producer when it comes to actual delivering rhymes. His delivery is on point. I have always said this.
