I think they just wanted a cheaper manager.

End the year with a 7 game losing streak

Maybe Joey Votto will drive some runners in next year or just bat leadoff
But he's the best hitter in the NL. But he doesn't chase bad pitches. But Dusty's using him wrong. But he's doing his job and getting on base. Singles hitters in the 3 hole deserve $225 million contracts. :heh:

i think Ron is done too. good guy i liked him in Oakland, but someone has to take the hit cant axe the players

Nah Uncle Ron will be around for awhile if he wants to be...but i don't think he wants to be around for anymore than maybe 2 more years...

It's funny...I always hear people clown ron in the media and on websites...but in the dallas / arlington area....rarely does anyone say anything bad about uncle ron...even the reddest of necks c@c will just be like :manny: at worse when talking about him...

He is stock really rose...for some reason...when he just admitted to doing coke in a random bathroom...

His recorded rant against the cardinals is pretty much reached Texas legend status...a chick i know told me they randomly played it at a rodeo...

The pitching behind Darvish is ass...

Everyone new Cruz was juicing and that eventually he would get caught :manny:

And the angels still suck...which helps...:manny: I think people are still :dwillhuh: that Oakland won the division again

not the guys biggest fan, but his FO didnt do him or the team any favors with the lack of trades. Pirates added some good pieces Reds stood pat. they need someone with some fire they always look so passive

The story of Cincy's sports history.

Yeah but for how long? I'm sure the Rangers front office looking at him like  It's probably a matter of time before they give him the axe as well.

Nah, they fired the coaches around Ron, but left him. I think Nolan really likes Ron but the GM doesnt......rumor has it that they've pretty much taken all of Nolan's power away.

But he's gonna be safe at least until next season

He kills pitchers and is a bad in-game manager....

...and his teams CONSTANTLY choke in the postseason.

That said, I do agree that minority coaches get the hook faster than their white counterparts (see Ty Willingham, Raheem Morris).

Dusty will have another job before the end of the month.

:smh: @ this Joey Votto slander. Choo and Votto getting on the base is the reason why Phillips had a career high 100 RBIs this season. The Reds got owned by a leftie who's extremely tough on lefty hitters. The Reds did fukk up by not securing home field in that elimination game. I think that front offices are looking for managers who embrace the analytical part of the game.
