Not all white people worship Ronald Reagan. Many of his harshest critics are white.
He "rescued" the White House from that socialist hippy Jimmy Carter and was the guy who helped wipe away the scandal stink that the GOP had been shamed by because of Nixon.
To the GOP faithful he was their godsend and created the illusion that the Republicans would own the presidency forever because he overshadowed his Dem chalengers in the charisma department.
The Republicans needed a hero and Ronnie was the guy who rode through on his white horse and rescued them.
