ya…I have found myself using subs even for american shows…I don’t need them on all the time but there have been quite a few times where a phrase or word was impossible to make out so I just say fukk it and leave it turned on

Yeah this can be rectified somewhat by adjusting your dynamic range.

Dynamic range is the mix between high and low sounds. If you have a large dynamic range (which is your problem), it'll make voices seem lower and loud sounds way too loud. Switch to a smaller dynamic range. This will make the louder sounds quieter and the quieter sounds louder. Creates a better balance.

Edifier R2000DB. You can find em on Amazon. Tried to add a link but it's acting janky
these are piff as hell. great for tv, movies, music, podcasts, youtube videos, etc. The clarity and dynamism is just I'm listening to some 128kpbs podcasts and it sounds like the mf in the room with you
