But to answer OP's question, the challenge is what kept most of us coming back. That feeling of accomplishment when you would beat a game back then :blessed:

I loved using the Morning Star and the Flame whip but Castlevania 2 used to piss me off. I would purposedly put in the wrong return game to Blockbuster so I could keep it a extra night to keep playing that bytch:laugh:

:damn: this game was the reason ofg countless blisters. i honestly believe this game was defective. there was no beating this. i never ran into or heard anyone say they finished it. only dude i knew who was a super ahrdcore gamer, had least 300 cartridges in his crib with notebooks full of notes as he went through the game was telling me most of the arcades revenge were defective:shaq2:

I wonder if there is a study highlighting people who grew up playing these hard ass games. Are they more resilient, successful than their other counterparts. When I beat Battletoads, that feeling of exhilaration I do not think I will ever experience again. That game was so hectic and stressful, but I did it ...when so few did. TMNT :pacspit: game gave me nightmares....but as a grown man I keep going till I wil in anything I do

I still remember getting Super Nintendo for christmas with X Men....me and my uncle spent the whole day getting washed ,didn't help I had my mom and aunt seeing our frustration being typical women talking shyt

"I don't know why you just didn't ask for books from santa.... or more wrestling men instead of this hard game" -:usure:
