Give it 4-5 games they prob will

If the Jets are smart and Teddy ball out he def will be traded.. I think that’s the plan for the jet they gotta start Teddy day 1 though
here's the inherent problem with that:

if he balls out, they'd probably win, and if they win, he's not going anywhere.

If he gets dealt at all, it has to be before the season starts.

Jets are invested in Darnold so if a teddy ball out he’s a trade asset for the jets where they can get some picks

That's a PR disaster waiting to happen. That's the one way Teddy could leave and Jets fans would be livid (which is hard to do :mjpls: ). If they play well with Teddy only to essentially pull the plug on the season, everyone will lose their jobs. That's partly why fans just want Darnold to start immediately.

Like I said, if it happens at all, it has to happen before the season starts.

they coulda just signed him if that were the case
They should’ve. But it shouldn’t take anything more than like a future 7th round pick to get him now, so why not?

Worst case, he never plays. Best case, he’s a clear upgrade over Bortles and makes the team much better.

Really? I thought it was gonna be Darnold with mccown as the backup?

How much do the jets think they can get for a 3rd stringer that they just signed for peanuts a few months ago?
Actually McCown was gonna be the starter, but the Jets might just let Darnold rock early.

The Jets really have no incentive to trade Bridgewater if they don't get what they feel is appropriate value. If that means either he or McCown drop to third string, so be it.

If someone's trading for Bridgewater, it's to start. A 2 is a reasonable price for a starter.
Nah that ain’t how it works. If a team really thought teddy was gonna be their starter, they would’ve just signed him. If a team is trading for him now, maybe they’re hoping he can be a starter, but it’s a flier.

If the jets don’t want to trade him for a 6th or 7th, then so be it, but he isn’t worth anything close to a 2nd.
