Didn't realize how celebrated beating women was on here til reading these Ray Rice threads :snoop:

What you expect, it's a bunch of men with low self-esteem who probably been ignored by women their entire lives.

Or just true pieces of garbage who have no power in their own life and feel they need to exert power over a woman

they always pick a controversial nfl story to oversaturate the media with leading up to the season.
then, when the season is over.
they use it for recap season finale specials.
on some look how far we came and weathered the storm shyt.
i noticed it originally,...
when, ray lewis was on trial then, the first raven's superbowl win.
plus, aspects of this and kobe's return from being an unconvicted rapist.
then, re-establishing his glory.
later on in finals wins and losses.
then, tiger added even more mystique to the draw of shyt like this.
when headed into a season for any sport.
don't quote me on this.
yet, i wanna say it became a standard practice and x's and o's media strategy.
to capitalize on the draw of the new approaching season in every aspect.
by having a domestic or relationship based situation play a story in the media for sports.
maybe it is a metric based draw for attracting new female supporters of the sport.
or keeping the demographic of current female supporters of the sport.
to create a larger female base for said sport and media outlet.

all i know is,..they latch on to any outside the lines based story heading into a season.
for some type of draw amplification to media outlets and that sporting league.

they really don't care about full change.
just the profitability of the story, and the amplified draw.

Like I said...if the US courts let you off the hook, that's that. Why sit here and continue discussing when the courts have already made up their minds and the woman has forgave him

Do you know much about domestic violence?

Abused women rarely ever press charges, it's a fact. I`m not saying she feels or doesn't feel responsibility, but abused women rarely ever actually hold their abusers accountable.
This has jack shyt to do with the fact that the courts saw the video and decided to not press charges and just give him counseling. That speaks volumes.

Money speaks volumes.

But you`ll never get it, cause you admit you don't know anything about domestic violence and the dynamic between abused and abusers.

I`ve seen women go back to men after that man has attempted to kill them, and they never pressed charges.

What is all of this Ray got of easy shyt? His wife didn't even press charges...so...what was there for him to get off from?

It's obvious she didn't press charges for a reason...it's obvious that in her mind she feels some sort of responsibility for what happened, hence why when the judicial system gave her the opportunity to press charges and send this nikka directly to jail for a long ass time and end his football career...she declined...and i am not ignorant to the fact that a large part of the reason she declined is because she enjoys the lifestyle they both live, afforded to them by the millions of dollars a year Ray makes to play football

The woman that got hit doesn't even want to press charges but the commissioner of the league is supposed to bring the hammer down? Makes no sense
Exactly..these dudes don't get it. For both the US courts and NFL to come down so light on Rice it's pretty obvious it wasn't a one-sided affair like people are suggesting.

I've seen this clown compelled take articles out of context to further his rants. Yet he swears up and down he's some sort of principled authority outside the jaded right wingers he criticizes.
Bu bu but... Olberman is the best ever...

I used to like him in doses, now I can't stand his ass. Everything is so forced and full of shyt. I hate his high and mighty ass attitude.

I don't think there are too many people celebrating the fact he hit his girl. Most people are just saying his punishment was reasonable, considering the fact that there were no charges pressed, and his wife forgave him. Then there are guys acting like we should send him to the stocks for what he did. Yea, it was a bad thing, no doubt, but how much punishment is enough and how much is too much? What punishment do you think he deserves, and what would be your basis for the punishment? and can you do that while being rational, and unemotional about the "sentencing?"

people keep talking about the video. nobody has even saw the video and if it was as disgusting as ppl make it seems the legal system wouldve came down harder. for all we know, oh girl could have been slapping him uncontrollably and he retaliated once. its awful, but its much less atrocious than the painted picture dude was just beating oh girl down in the elevator. none of us have seen it. those who have seen it, came with light punishment.

I'm just puzzled why the Rice situation was the proverbial straw here. Just because of the video?

I mean:

June 8, 2007: According to the Denver Post, two incident reports were filed by Atlanta police. A friend of Watley’s claimed Marshall hit her car and then threw a rock at the passenger door as Watley was riding in the passenger seat. Watley also told police Marshall cut her in the thigh and punched her in the face. She was taken by ambulance to a local hospital. Marshall was not present when police arrived. No charges were filed.

June 30, 2007: According to the Denver Post, Watley told Atlanta police Marshall punched and choked her at his condo. She had a bruise and scratches. Marshall was not present when police arrived. No charges were filed.

And Marshall is pretty much perceived as a good guy in the media now...he's on TV a lot.

Yes, because of the video.

It's not the straw, it's the mere fact people respond to something they see more than something they read in allegations.

Why keep posting, isn't this obvious?

I heard Big Ben raped a woman, now imagine they had video of that scenario? He might be allowed back in the league.

Stop acting like you don't get it, you're smarter than that
