Why would any team in the NBA max out Josh Smith?

I really don't understand how any team can justify givin him 10-12 mill a year .. They will immediately look to unload that contract after one season..

Smoove leading the break is just a catastrophe waiting to happen. He is either going to fumble that shyt near the free throw line leading into a turnover or he is gonna throw it nowhere near a teammate, leading into a turnover. Its rare that a Smoove lead fast break turns into points.

i been watchin the hawks lowkey the preseason and these first 2 games and teague fukkin around and adding 3-4 more assists per game just cause of josh smiths retardation not being around
i dont see wasted assist situations where teague would get a pick from josh and he'd float farther and farther away from the rim to take a jumper he'd inevitably miss
him wasting 2-3 posessions a game tryna be like magic johnson and shyt
