Why would anyone willingly go to Mississippi or Alabama?

Only been to Mississippi one time. The people I visited lived on a dirt road with no street lights. When I went outside at night, it was dark as hell and the bugs and critters was making crazy ass noises. I can't lie a nikka was a little shook :lupe:

I see what this thread is saying but NY has this facade of being a melting pot yet it's one of the most segregated/racist states ever
Good point. Remember this: http://projects.nytimes.com/census/2010/explorer?view=raceethnicity&lat=40.8137&lng=-73.958&l=14

New York has all types of people living there but they all are mostly segregated:

Because I got a LOT of history there.

My grandfather was a preacher in a small town called Centreville, in the south of Mississippi west of Natchez. He along with my grandmother, mom and uncles moved to California in the 60s mostly because of the Emmitt Till fallout. He and my grandmother are buried by the church he preached at. I went there with my mom 10 yrs ago , along with Biloxi, where my sister was born because my pops was stationed in the Air Force .

The first Hooters I went to was in Biloxi Beach :lawd: Saw a lot of mixed couples down there too like I was back home :leon: Oh yeah, ALL the girls in Biloxi (no matter the race) had a phatty :banderas:

I have a cousin who has a successful construction business down there and he built the mansion he lives in . :obama: He's known for building the homes for athletes and rappers such as Ludacris , no :duck:

It was rewarding to hear all about my family heritage when I went down there. However, a weekend is cool but NOT a week :whoa: I had a good trip, but I couldn't wait to get back to California after day 4 out of 7.
