Why would anyone willingly go to Mississippi or Alabama?

My family, my grandma lives there 
. My last time I visited there was almost 10 years ago but they don't live in terrible area, decent home area. That place isn't that bad. I had fun over there.

The truth ironically is the South is in some ways less racist than the North. Down there white people who don't like blacks will tell you they don't like blacks vs whites up north being PC about it when they are truly disgusted by you. I rather have the former. Up North, we're more "tolerant" and "liberal" but we don't want to live next to certain people, go to school with certain people or go to certain places with certain people 
segregated completely........like Southside Chicago and Northside Chicago. Whereas Down South, I noticed a lot of those small towns were more INTEGRATED....like blacks and whites interacting moreso than staying segregated in their own bubble. For example, white people and black people go to church together. Another thing I noticed is down south is supposed to be super racist but, I saw a lot of old white men walking their brown granddaughters around. Had me

I believe the south has more of than the North is reverse discrimination ( I see discrimination against non-blacks). What you might find is that people in the North will discriminate against you for being uneducated, as they don't put up with the kinds of things the employers do in the South (Such as people with bad grammar/spelling issues or excessive slang talk, etc.

I got family all over down there, spent part of my childhood in Mississippi. As much as I would never want to live back down there, it's aight. I just got too many bad memories there. My homie was killed a few years back and I went back for his funeral. Last time I was there... Wait I was in Biloxi at the casinos last year tho
