I don't pretend to be a scholar of the Quran and Arabian culture, unlike you
I cannot read a line and say that it "explicitly" or "literally" means something because I don't have an understanding of it's context, so I will go with a scholar's interpretation
From everything I've ever read and experienced, I've never found the Quran to be proven wrong

These miniscule things you're pinpointing can easily be disproven... e.g. if you read that verse closer it does say the moon reflects light but only because that the sun is the lamp...
