A man who is a bachelor 35 and above is considered an unremittent playboy by many of them. Is it old fashioned, yes. And if it's the norm then there are unspoken rules and assumptions at play that those not in those spaces may not be privy to. You can take your chances, sure. Though, if you are a "hedge your risk" type, it's better be black and not take that chance.
