My thing is: I can understand folks choosing to abstain from sex completely (for whatever belief system they may hold); but I don't understand folks being in a relationship and choosing to have sex, but only once they fulfil a nonsensical social construct. Sexual chemistry is an important thing in a relationship, and if it isn't there, and the realization of this has only come after you're married, 1, 2, 3+ years deep of being together, it will only increase the chances of a fractured relationship.

When you're with someone, you both should be doing all that you can to mitigate these risks as early as possible, so they don't come back to bite you down the road. It's only because it's sex, yet they don't wait until marriage for any other emotional, financial, and communication lining and barrier that may affect the relationship.
