Will America ever fall in love with muslims the same way they did with the Japanese?

:beli: The question has a bad analogy because it compares a post conflict state to a conflict state in the context of conflict like WWII. Then you guys posted stuff about Video Games, Sushi etc to explain what Japanese have that Muslims don't have. I punctured both sides of this comparison and for some reason it's not processing for you. You literally can't say the japanese have video games and the muslims don't so we wont like the Muslims like we like the Japanese, because the cultural cross fertilization is predicted on an end to hostility first and future cultural interaction

I still have no idea what the fukk you're trying to say, but I don't really care either. I'm sure it makes sense in your mind, if nowhere else.

OP's question: Will Americans ever look on Muslims like the Japanese?
Answers: Japanese have X, Y, Z. Muslims don't.
Zerozero: None of this X, Y, Z japanese had mattered or was known about when the conflict was alive. So you don't know what Muslims "have" that Americans will like in the future.

Simple as heck.

Also considering "muslim culture" spans dozens upon dozens of countries I also think the responses are lacking info.

I get that. I'm puzzled as to how that line of reasoning actually develops in your mind and you actually think it is of any consequence or even applies to the question and not just the rhetorical red herring that it is.

All people are saying is that the war with Japan was deaded for several years, we stopped giving a fukk about them, and their contributions in culture, tech, and entertainment helped foster an affinity for them over time.

Likewise, a similar scenario could develop with middle eastern nations if the beef got deaded for a sustained period of time and they developed similar contributions that we consumed.

Nobody said that middle eastern nations couldn't develop global contributions that could ingratiate them to the U. S. in the future and nobody said we would have affinity toward the Japanese if there was still a state of conflict. Your entire presence in this thread has been vacuous and pointless.

Islam is a religion with billions of people so this is a bit of a stupid question. I think we're talking about the Ay-Rabs and Americans will love/hate whoever the mainstream media tells them to. They are that fickle sorry to say.

Pretty much. Chinese, Japanese, and Koreans worship white people because their culture teaches them to succumb to and respect power/authority. Muslims will fight the west for a thousand years, and a thousand years after that if that's what it takes. Big difference.

the problem is there does not appear to be an opportunity for islamic societies to produce cultural products for us to consume, plus we seem to have the inability to do grand nation building programs of the post ww2 variety with these folks, hence why most people in here pretty much assume that muslim societies will continue being places with few cultural exports we are interested in.

basically, we dont see the combination of interesting culture and intimate nation bulding as happening with muslim societies on the horizon. much of japan's cultural exports come from culture and design sensibilities that began up to a thousand years ago. the closest muslims come to that is the assassin's creed series, and they have been abandoning the middle eastern assasins in the sequels. the last rambo movie did not reconnect with his taliban buddies, and disney isnt making anymore aladdin movies, and quite frankly, none of those pieces of media are being produced by muslims, just us.

@kevm3 You mentioned more than once in the past that you believe Kanye will be "next". If you were to make a prediction what do you think will happen exactly? This is just a prediction.

Kim Kardashian isn't the one to hold on to. If he doesn't know how to eject, he will be used as a fame footstool just like all the other men she's dealt with.

Well prior to 9/11 Muslims were generally looked at generally positively by Americans even if they has some reservations about aspects of the religion/culture. I don't know if it will ever get back to that though.

Any thoughts on what advancements, technologies, attributes, etc we could possibly get from the Muslim world decades from now?

Like in key areas like Iraq, Iraq, Palestine(i think there will be a two state solution when Benji goes away) .

I honestly cannot think of anything but then again you never know.....I doubt alot of people expected in 1945, Japan would have such a HUGE influence as it has over the decade.
