Will anyone surpass Hulk Hogan

I doubt it based on the legacy he started and how he made the company what it eventually became. I do think in my personal opinion he wouldn't be as over if he debuted these days. I barely missed the Hogan era, joining in when Bret Hart was starting to become champion, and others like yokozuna and the undertaker. But from watching the network, he seemed like the cena of those days. Some superhero catered to the kids who just talked about how much he loved the company and fans in every interview or promo and rarely lost or helped build the talent around him. Maybe If I Were a young kid I would be a fan but at my age, I don't see how the old heads could've liked him.

I find it very hard to believe. Too many variables in play and so many stars would have to align for it to be even remotely possible. shyt, Id find it hard to believe if you told me someone has/will surpass Rock or Stone Cold either. shyt's just not happening. Wrestling is more of a niche/sideshow than in the past and there are so many options for entertainment, that even if someone could possibly be in that position, it still couldn't be justified indisputably.

Look at the popularity of pro wrestling pre-Hulkamania and post-Hulkamania. The shift was monumental. It went from being a regional thing to a MAINSTREAM thing. Who can say they ever raised the bar like that? Nobody.

In order to surpass Hogan you gotta take the game even further. You gotta elevate pro wrestling onto even higher ground. So if the day ever comes where the WWE is competing with the NFL, or if the day ever comes when Wrestlemania is as big or bigger than the superbowl... then maybe I'll consider the superstar responsible bigger than Hogan.

But until then, Hogan is #1. He's the one who blew the lid off this thing.

You have guys that are better in the ring like HBGoat, you have guys that achieved more mainstream success like the Rock, you have guys that are a combination of the two like Austin. But to this this when most people think pro wrestling the first person they think of is Hogan. Hogan's success paved the way for everyone else's success IMO.

Are you really lookin to have a discussion or are you just tryna argue, cause I'm not really sure how you took that away from my post. The pro wrestling audience increased in size exponentially after Hogan's initial rise to fame. That's all I was inferring, nothing more.

And as for people being under 25 not recognizing Hogan's greatness you must be huffin gas. None of us were alive to see Babe Ruth either but I bet you every single person here knows who he is and what he meant to baseball. If anything his legend grows with time. The same will happen with Hogan. As of right now he is the most pivotal superstar in the history of the sport.

NYC and the tri-state media market had the most fans in the golden era and the history of the sport.

Old TV stations WWOR TV channel 9, and WWPIX TV channel 11 helped make the industry what it is today.

WWE has its headquarters in Stamford, CT, bout 30 mins. from the city.

I don't think anyone is bigger than the Rock from pro wrestling. He never had a down period once he reached main event and he is more recognizable than anyone ever affiliated with pro wrestling. If this was 1996, u could say Hogan was without question bigger than anyone ever but after 2000, things were never the same again. Dwayne Johnson was raising ratings on other networks and shows. Successful in Hollywood...something everyone else failed at. One of a kind. And you'll never see it again with how exposed the business is these days..not to mention the McMahon agenda to act like fans are dummies.

When u can raise the ire of pro wrestling across the board on every spectrum to unseen heights? U have no peer.
