why wouldn't he?
He's financially very set. I know he's got the whole hustler mentality but when he's really, really set for life I can't imagine the couple million (could be more, I don't really know) from a mediocre album really being worth it compared to not doing it.
Now if he does another, and final, album maybe in 4-5 years where it's some true farewell to the game and introspective about his past, present, future, that'd be cool. Make the album a documentary on where he came from, friends lost, enemies made, industry shyt. I know he's done that in songs but to really focus like 3/4 of an album on that would be cool. Talk about Bey naggin, Blue crying, day to day shyt. Then end it with thank yous, goodbyes. I really think that would be dope. No JT, no pandering. When it's all said and done finish on something very real start to finish. But I'm a Jay stan and this is just what I'd love.
At this/that point he doesn't really need to be top notch with the lyricism/flow as long as the content is real, I think that's what most Jay fans really want.
Or wait 20 years so he can drop the "now it's a different kind of cain that supports me"

(stole that line from someone, just like my idol

)
