A million disqualifiers that you can use for plenty of other hall of famers. C'mon....

You basically pointed out and segmented every negative in Kobe's career. Could do the same for LBJ.

The criteria the OP gave was "10+ years of total domination". I'm using his criteria, didn't make up my own.

Kobe simply doesn't have that. Too many seasons where he either wasn't even the best guy on his team, wasn't competing for a title, or wasn't in the MVP discussion at all.

For the 11 seasons from 2005-2016, Lebron was clearly a dominant player in the NBA. 4 MVPs, 3 Finals MVPs, 7 Finals appearances, contender every single year, eight straight seasons in top-3 in MVP voting. Not a single year where the regular season ended and you didn't feel that he was an MVP candidate AND was either going to compete for a title or at least make the final rep sweat.

Kobe's clearly a HOF player. He's nearly an all-time top-10 - most people think it's between him and Hakeem, I put him a little lower. But it's exactly the place where someone who only has 1 MVP and 2 FMVPs should be.

Kobe has never had a better season than either of Curry's last two seasons, and that's a fact.

If Curry keeps up with this say another 4 or 5 years, I wouldn't be so dismissive if I were you.

Kobe had many seasons that were just as good if not better than Curry's 2014-15 season, and had 2 that were as good or better than his 15-16 season.

Steph
14-15 - 23.8 ppg, 7.7 ast, 4.3 reb, 2 stl
15-16 - 30.1 ppg, 6.7 ast, 5.4 reb, 2.1 stl

Kobe
05-06 - 35.4 ppg, 5.3 reb, 4.5 ast, 1.8 stl
06-07 - 31.6 ppg, 5.7 reb, 5.4 ast, 1.4 stl

Almost every season of Kobe's career he had better numbers than Steph did in 14-15 and impacted the game as much if not more than him. And 15-16 Kobe has 05-06 and 06-07 that are right there, very possibly better, and again impacted the game as much or more. And I'm a Kobe hater, nothing but respect for him but hated him his whole career pretty much.

Curry has 4 seasons averaging over 20 pts, only 1 over 25 pts, and doesn't affect the game in crazy ways besides his shooting, he's not in the same league as Kobe as an all around player, and most likely never will be.
