IF the Rockets can dump Asik and Lin's contracts, they can wiggle enough room to sign Melo for around $20 mil next year and give em a Dwight type deal.

I'm not blaming him specifically he just isn't a max player. He's not going to any other bad team and turning them around. His impact overall other than his own stats is minimal.

We can argue the value of a max player til we're blue in the face.

Given that Melo has already turned one bad team around in his life, we can't say he can't turn them around. He's no longer at a point where he's willing to do that to a bad team, but he's been able to do that.

Can he be the best player on a championship team? It's looking more and more like he can't, but right now the only guy winning those rings plays in Miami and he needed another guy who has already led a championship to help him (and Bosh)
