Melo isn't a Max player?
Why would you give a player max money on a terrible team? If Melo were that type of player the Knicks wouldn't be this bad.
...He's having one of his best seasons ever and IS a superstar. You can't do much with a bunch of scrubs on your team. This is the New York Knicks we're talking about. Their big offseason acquisition was Andrea Bargnani

If u replace Melo with another star, the Knicks would at least be a 500 team. He's not a leader. And his gm doesn't help his teammates

Would a Lebron or Durant led team ever have this bad a season recrod wise in the east no matter what their supporting cast was? no way
Am i blaming him for this season? no his teammates arent good he is a gifted scorer but much like iverson his ball dominance makes it hard to put a team around him,hes very difficult to play with
Knicks are better off if he leaves and they bottom out get a high pick and have a shytlaod of cap space in 15' if they give him the max the last few years of that contract will look ugly hes an old 30 with all the mnutes hes logged and shots hes tkaen

Aside from his wife saying that they're staying- Ive watched almost all the games and Melo hasnt completely checked out at all... Like he still wants to win in NY. He knows that winning just one here beats winning several anywhere else. Also, the next two offseasons happen to be where the Knicks have the opportunity to make some real moves- like wiping the slate clean of Amare and his $20 million contract and also Tyson...
Chicago would be the only other good fit for him. He is exactly the one thing they need to be a contender. But will his 'defense' be able to work in their system?
He aint going to no LA, theyre in as bad a shape is NY. No way he fits in with Harden in Houston. As for the Heat? Its possible, but Melo does not seem to have the mentality to take a back seat- b/c even if he won a 'ship with them, it would be like he needed Bron to win it.
