Philly always had talent and quality music but I guess they was always too street for the mainstream other than Will Smith although Eve did pretty well for herself too.

philly is just a blue collar ass city. they have contributed more then their share to the game but their artist don't make cross over type music. they got some of the best soul and hip hop coming out of their tho.

If you notice all the NY legends were signed to NY artist or NY record labels. Southern Legends were signed to southern labels or Southern branches of record labels.

If we ever get a Philly Legend we need to get a Philly label that will take care of the artist.

All Philly artist that signed to other labels had they style taken from them. Look at Young Chris and Jay-Z...Look at Gillie and Lil Wayne. If a Philly nikka sign to a Philly nikka (or Philly label) then the win stays in Philly.
