Will Smith finally telling why he turned down the matrix, the pitch was awful!

I don't see will as a good Neo. Keanu was perfect because his acting is more subdued (im not gonna argue on if it's good or bad acting) i feel like Will was almost "too famous" from more comedic type roles for this role which would have made it harder for people to get emersed in the movie. Trying to think of a good black young more subtle actor from that time but can't think of anyone.

Someone from today's era who i feel would have done a good job if he was old enough back then is Ryan Gosling.

Yep. Huge fan of Will Smith but he probably would have had some one liners about "how they always do this to brothas" and that would have took me out the movie

Will could nave done it. Six Degrees Of Separation, Enemy Of The State and later on Pursuit Of Happyness proved he’s capable of more subdued everyman performances.

No lie I would like to sit down and watch the trilogy but the coli breh told me I would help support the brothers lifestyle and that sealed the deal for me to not watch it

Nah not him IMO it would have to be Joseph Gordon-Levitt, I could see him nailing it

The Wild West West money is what got him. Remember nobody really got paid off Matrix 1. It was so new and revolutionary in 1999 that it didn’t really do mega numbers until it’s initial dvd run and then the hype train for part 2. He felt bad about missing the boat so he had his wife join in on the franchise which was a good move because she did well as Naiobi

Matrix was a hit off the bat. Top five at the box office for 1999.
It was a surprise hit though
