After looking at his off-spring, I'm not sure Will Smith is the type of person I'd want advice on anything other than how to make a blockbuster film.

Will expects every "racist" to be some frothing at the mouth psychopath with a Winchester and a noose. That's not the case.
You get this behavior when whites et al let a few token blacks or other races in to be actors, athletes, or musicians, etc.
When the people who allowed you in lead you to believe you are special and you got in off your merits alone, you believe everything is equal.
The entire system is rigged, and you're being let in on a technicality or to fit an agenda. Not because everything is equal.
That's not to say everyone in power is racist. You like, support and promote what is similar to you. Most white people don't even have to make these considerations; it's inherent.
So perhaps it's less racism, and moreso privilege.

There's a difference between someone being racist and being ignorant. You can never mistake the difference. People can't even hide it. You talk to them, even if they smile in your face, eventually you'll feel the vibe. i'm speaking generally. If you actually took time to meet non-black people, you'd see alot of them are generally good people who're just ignorant about black issues. But they're not viciously racist. You will know those types when you come across them.

Racism is predicated on power. Will has money and power so he isn't running into too many people of any race who can hurt him with their ignorance.
