I legit got love for this nikka I never even met as if he was my play cousin, so I only want good things for dude but....

Will Smith needs to leave his ego at the door, hookup with a director who's gonna challenge and pull some new ish outta him, and stop trying to control the bts shyt.

Stop only taking movies where his contract gives him meddle room with the producers/directors, cuz all that's gonna do is get people involved who just want a check, and don't care about the final product.

Leave the ego at home, be challenged and stop thinking you know better than the ones with the vision.
These last few years should've been a wakeup call, frfr.

What great movies have com3 out that would have been perfect for Will, that could afford him:comeon:. Not many, and he would deserve to have a say in the ones that did.

Seven Pounds and I Am a Legend have great acting
:ld:

Maybe better acting. I never said he's bad. But again, his box office numbers and fee to appear, would say he's A list. You would not put his acting skills on the A list of anything. DDL? I wouldn't even give him Don Cheadle... He's no 50 cent.. But he's about a good as Marky Mark.. And I don't expect much more from him either

Will seems so desperate to get that Oscar he keeps jumping on shyt like collateral beauty which was a high concept movie that could be brilliant if pulled off correctly but failed horribly

If he would take a pay cut to make his casting more attractive, while also leaving out his control freak clauses, there's plenty. I'll give you a few that I think Will could've been dope in, if he actually tried.

Sicario
John Wick
Flight
Gone Girl
Nightcrawler
Whiplash
Her

You might not agree, but there's those n more Will could've done.

Plenty of actors have taken less pay than they usually get just to work in movies with great directors.
If Will doesn't want to do that, its fine.

But he's flopping on a consistent basis now, so something's not working and the only common denominator is Will at this point.

I havent seen most of those, but outside of John Wick or Gone Girl i dont think any of those stop the "Will is picking bad movies" narrative. Why?because you have people judging Will based on his quality of picks, while the majority will judge based on his box office success which most of those movies wouldnt have been. You want will to take a paycut and have no say, when ultimately the failure of the movie effects how much he can ask for on the next movies. Thats something you do once you realize your no longer a draw. That time may be here now we dont know for sure.

Ehhhhh dude was right. He explained you just don’t take anything for any money. But you select the top people, then take a pay cut to work with them, cause you trust them

a Spielberg, a Tarantino, a Scorsese, a Nolan. Or a top notch producer. Or an ensemble cast of A listers all taking a cut. Etc etc

Will doesn’t seem to get these roles or opportunities. I’m sure he could step to MiB franchise owners and ask for back end instead of upfront. A producer credit. Etc. I’m sure some of these top notch people want to see what they can do with him. Everyone isn’t in a franchise or getting 30 million. Some are taking short money up front and long money on the back and betting in themselves

he seems to be taking the hard roles but not setting them up proper. I’d much rather see him in Django than that NFL movie. He turned down a lost acting and directing cause he needed to control the amount of cussing. Hancock a great idea, he needed control cause it was too dark. SS he takes a cut tho for that campy piece of shyt, but won’t suck that same fee to be blade or anybody else he wanted to be in marvel. Then quits it before the second

he really is in is own way

Its a short list of actors that work with those big name directors. Will is probably at the bottom of that short list:mjpls:.Plus most of you have already questioned his acting ability yet think Spielberg or Scorsese would want Will to lead there movie. And if Im doing a movie with Tarantino as a black man you damn right Im going to need some control so he dont have me doing some c00n shyt or some fukk shyt.Personally i wouldnt work with him,and damn sure wouldnt comprimise my morals for that shytty film that was Django. I dont see how any of the movies he posted would have stopped this discussion from taking place among some segment of Will Smith fans. Yall dont understand its different when your known as Mr Box Office like Will was. Will could have picked great roles and people would still be talking about how they flopped. Proof is Wills movies havent been that bad and are usually enjoyable on first watch, though not memorable.

He doesn't have to work with Tarantino tho. I wouldn't if I was him, just cuz his movies tend to be supremely white identified.

But every big director isn't that trollfaced Tarantino.
To work with a Scorsese, or one of the up n coming guys like the guy who made Thor Ragnarok, Will might have to release the reins a little, but it could give him a second wind.
Cuz he's flailing and gasping right now.
And imo, he doesn't have to be.

If he gets out his own way.

Go to Marvel, ask about the Blue Marvel and make it for cheap, both production budget and pay.
Get a clause in there for the Ultimates, and negotiate backend pay vs upfront pay.

Boom, he's now part of the most successful franchise in history, and he's got a whole new fanbase of little kids too.
