Tough call...cause going forward if steph and durant take the max that is 70% of the salary cap...so you going to have 4 guys carrying 11 guys who are either rookies barely hanging on to nba careers or old players better hanging on to nba careers...GS top 4 is going to rip through the regular season no matter who they play but when you get past the second round of the playoffs and playing a team with a good bench that is going to catch up with you...

I thought CV says benches are less important in the playoffs? GS biggest problem last year was that the starters fixated too much on the regular season. There's a reason why most championship teams coast in the regular season.

That wasn't their problem...by the time they got to the WCF this team had to many problems to even mention...

GS going forward looks to be building a team with 4 great players and a bunch of rookies and bums...I don't think you are going to consistently beat the spurs or cleveland with 4 great players and a bunch of bums...your 4 great players might outplay their top 4 but you are going to SEVERELY get outplayed when it comes to benches...

I think a deeper bench is more helpful in the regular season than the playoffs. The warriors can keep either Klay, Curry, or KD on the floor at all times. It's not the depth of the bench that has been an issue as much as lack of size.

This is not true. GSW had the same issue that every precision, finesse team has come playoff time...when the game slows down and becomes a grind and shyt ain't getting called like it was during the regular season and fatigue starts to set in you aren't gonna be as precise. Plenty of chip teams have ran through the regular season. We have seen teams coast lose and teams dominate and win. It's all about how you are built, health, and matchups.

You arent fully understanding Warrior lineups. There is always either Steph or KD on the court at all times. KD is the first sub out of the game and when he comes back in Curry gets his rest. Our bench lineups are usually KD +Klay and bench players or Steph + Draymond and bench players. Having a top 5 player on the court at all times is as formidable of a bench as any in the league.

Warriors actually were able to play the grind out style when necessary. Their weakness wasn't so much in the style as much as it was lack of size. They suffered rebounding and were unable to stop Kyrie or Lebron from slashing to the hoop. These problems have been known and discussed since 2014.

When was this? That is the same style that had them down 2-1 (and a Bron miss from possibly being down 3-0) against an undermanned CLE team. They didn't turn the series around until they went small and ran them dudes out the building. The Warriors are at their best running up and down the floor which is a direct contrast to grinding it out. Size and rebounding are necessary parts of grinding it out.

If they keep drafting like they have been and continue to find Ezeli's and Looney's (even though he's unproven still) and Green's with later picks they'll be fine. Especially with ring hungry vets lining up. Miami set the blueprint.

Only if okc was this smart:mjgrin:

Too soon breh chill. :mjcry:

As a Portland fan, extremely depressed at losing out on our Oden-Aldridge-Batum-Roy core due to injuries.

But it's got to be better than losing out to a Durant-Ibaka-Harden-Westbrook core just because my owner sucks. :lolbron:

You need to be careful with such a reduction of analysis because it's more talking point than informative. Their problems, with the current core, stem from their inability to stop athletic wing players, and their inability to get rebounds. In 2014, their problem was really Klay playing like absolute trash the entire playoffs, not just the finals. Klay was bad the entire second half of 2014. There's a reason that the warriors struggle with teams like the Jazz, Raptors, Timberwolves. Those teams, esp the last two, do not grind out games. Warriors have been my team for 17 years now and I got to watch probably 70 percent of their games in 2014 and 2015. I was pointing out their deficiencies and weaknesses even during the regular season. The "style" analysis just doesn't work because Curry broke any type of game plan no matter the pacing.
