But that’s what forums were back in the day. The only validation you got was either a direct reply to your post, or replies to your thread. A good post was typically seen as one based on how many people responded to it. Likes cheapen it in a way. Just a quick tap that says ‘I acknowledge your post’. Now we feed off of it.

I still feel strongly that more people will disconnect from it, because of how unhealthy and negative it all is. Sort of a counterculture social media revolution. I do think the children of milllenials will be the catalyst. I hope.

Exactly. Forums without like buttons, or any validation tool, tend to attract only people who are legit interested in a particular subject.

The coli is, to me, just a BBS in high-resolution.

There's not really the same "social" aspect as on Facebook, etc... Nobody here is really trying to flex like that. Nobody here knows anybody else here.

If your social media sucks it's because of your lack of capability to filter it. Only people I know IRL have my fb and only my hobbies are added to my IG. When I open it all I see is art and sports and a couple rappers I may like . Same goes for my YouTube subscriptions

Red Box is just now backsliding and music videos are more popular now than they've been in at least 10 years. I'm sure IG and Snap will lose popularity eventually but social media will continue to evolve over time. I think we will start to see "social media etiquette" become more entrenched in society. People pulling out their phones in certain places like sit down restaurants will be scorned. Fake booty IG thots will become played out etc.
