I just come here for the music movie and game discussions
I see the thread titles but I don't care to follow the story or read further.
And I am out the loop on day to day family life of course. I am successful and educated and had to move away from my hometown for my career. I don't live close to anyone and I don't care to know what they had for dinner and what their every thought is

my guess is that you're in your early 20s where you haven't been around long enough to know what the web was like before social media became the norm.
trust me when i say this, web forums are NOT social media.
social media gives you NO privacy. web forums are supposed to protect it. when you see people putting themselves out their on web forums, they do so by choice. they also have the right to be anonymous. social media actually forces someone to reveal their identity by taking away their privacy. even if you don't give your real name on social media, they basically can access all your personal info through access of your google history and etc. social media is all about data collecting. it was NEVER about networking. privacy on social media is an oxymoron.
