I was thinking of most consecutive Billboard #1 hits.
Still. Have rappers made as much money now or during previous eras?

There are more outlets for rappers to make money now a days than in the 90s. I'm not just talking about making money off album sales. The potential for money is greater now.

Jay has to be near a billion if you're counting his money and Beyonce's (which you kinda have to). I think Master P could've made a billion back in the day, but he stretched himself thin with all the things he was trying to have his hands in.

Understandble, but
What rappers made the Forbes list during the 90's?
How many rappers were worth over 100 million? I can only think of Master P
What rapper, according to you, were making at as much money in the 90's as, Jay-z, 50, Dre, and Birdman now?

Also, it's funny Baby and Slim's name never come up when talking people with money, even though they are known for having paper.

You never said that. You said the potential to be a Billionaire was lost. And it's due to the download era
i feel like the opportunity to be a hip hop billionaire was before the download era, and now the windows closed

am i wrong
I'm saying rappers are worth more money now than prior to the "download era"
There was just an article about how Diddy's new network has the potential to make him a Billionaire.
http://www.forbes.com/sites/zackoma...ks-cable-deal-will-it-make-him-a-billionaire/
And a majority of those moguls were rappers first. Becoming a mogul is one example of how rappers can potentially make more money now, than previous eras.

They gotta have some long money at this point. The deal they got plus the amount of records they've sold (500million+) :wow:

Yea.

Will you be a Billionaire off rap alone NOW? No
Does rap have the potential to turn artist into Billionaires from other business ventures? Yes.
