Will US politics ever return to normal: pre trump/maga era or is this the new normal

Know your history folks. The world NEVR goes backwards. The 50s looked like pleasantville, then every man who threatened change in the 60s was killed and the world was never the same. Birthed hippies, counter-culture, etc.

We were never the same after 9/11…and trump was the next water shed moment. Then Covid…it’s like drifting at sea it happens slowly and subtle while you’re in it and you don’t notice it but you’re way further from the shore than you realize.

Its the new normal, especially when CAC population decreases rapidly in the coming years.

MAGA is the last play that white supremacy has on America before it transforms into nothing else the world has ever seen, where CACs are no longer the shot callers.

Whites are constantly in fear of losing numbers, being overrun by immigrants/minorities, losing power, losing representation, owing minorities, etc.

The MAGA movement and the modern GOP gives them an outlet to air out their grievances and have their fragility catered to.

I remember having a conversation with a Trump supporting cac at a previous job and he told me that one of the reasons he supported Trump was because Republicans tried to "play nice" with Romney and McCain and it got them no results whereas Trump's rawness and unpolished speech made him a voice for the "silent majority" who were tired of playing nice with Democrats and "blah blah."

And Trump's impact on the GOP is long lasting and isn't going to return to the Bush days anytime soon. Almost every Republican that blows up with White America now is a hardlined paleoconservative/patriot type who's raw/unpolished, "anti-woke", entertains conspiracy theories, talks trash about the mainstream media, etc. just like Trump. And the Bush era Republicans are now called "RINO's" or fake conservatives.

There is no going back to normal. And the MAGA movement is fighting harder than Mike Tyson in the 80's to steal, acquire, and maintain power by any means necessary.

#BothSides thinks that this shyt's a joke but there's a reason why you'll never see a Conservative/Red district or area fighting for reparations without Jan 6th type protestors with Confederate flags and MAGA hats armed with rifles ready to literally battle their government over it. And this type of reactionary violence is becoming normalized in the GOP under the guise of "freedom."

I'm going to say it'll return, but it'll take time. Joe Biden and current leadership is a great step in the right direction.

I'm predicting Biden wins a landslide next election.

Republican, cringeworthy politics is very loud-mouthed, but I think the average, neutral person have come to their senses knowing how bad that Trump era was.

Republicans started breaking the political system in the 90's when they refused to accept Clinton as a legitimate president. But instead of getting called out for what they were doing, the very serious people started browbeating those where were pointing out what was happening. Then Republicans actually stole an election in 2000 and installed the worst president in the history of the US, but again, the very serious people pretended everything was normal. Trump would have never been possible, had these things been prevented, but they weren't, so he trashed what was left and things will only get worde from here on out.

If they lose 2 more major Presidential elections I can see it changing. The Bush style republicans died after taking two straight L's to Obama. A couple L's for the Maga styled republicans on a national scale will convince them to change form.

You want to know how it returns? When people fight back against hate. More specifically when white people decide to get off their asses and fight for minorities. If that doesn't happen, then younger white people will continue to be sold on the notion that they are missing out on some inherent greatness that is being stolen by blacks, and other races, anf the LGBTQ. They will push Christo-facism hard, which could turn into a Talibanesque scenario. Fight. Stand up. Tell your white friends to do the same. Ill be dammed if my daughter gets the second hand citizen treatment. I'd die for that shyt...
