Look to Europe. Extreme wings of parties, hybrid "coalition" governments, extremists holding up any meaningful legislation while corporatists feast, and on and on and on. Brits, French, Greeks, Italians...it's all right there. Insurrectionists, corporatists and spies at every level of government, in open rebellion against the rule of law, gumming up the works of the legal system and Constitution as they're embedded in the highest court of the land itself, working against the "freedom" they've preached yet strangled everywhere else on the planet...because nobody has the strength of character to do what history always says should be done with such people.

Like Europe, people will continue to think they can negotiate with the cancer they've self-administered.

It won't. Folks in the extreme are getting more of the press attention then normal politicians. These people found out that all they have to do is be the loudest people in the room and the cameras will come. At this point they get to spit out whatever agenda they want and it will be talked about. We no longer ignore crazy people, we put them in the forefront and that radicalizes the people that listens to them.

We can't seem to agree on anything and what's left is a gridlock election after election. We can't find a middle ground with guns, medical system, student debt, abortion, the budget and everything else. And whatever does pass gets watered down and folks use it as an opportunity to put a lot of BS in bills that has nothing to do with nothing. The system been broken.

There is no presidential savior coming because he can't do it on his/her own. There needs to be a completly new class of folks that actually cares about the country and not worried about getting elected. I'm hoping GenZ can save us down the road.
