Being an early adopter on a windows update is like being a crash test dummy..


Sometimes it takes them so long to work out the kinks after launch... Skipped on 8 all together. Besides 7 I'd say XP was their last great effort. Hopefully this is more like those than vista and 8...

new gaming pc...

new wireless extender (probably won't even need one...don't really need the one i have now)

I tend to do one of these every 3 or 4 years...last time i did a new one was 2012...or maybe 2011...

Bout to put this on my gaming PC, laptop, netbook, and media streaming PC. Unfortunately for me since Windows 10 doesn't have Windows Media Center my HTPC can't have it. I'll still see If I can nab a serial for it incase Microsoft changes their mind.

Probably dual boot on my Macbook to play around with, but it's not hitting my desktop for a long while (knowing me, that really means the very next weekend i have a few hours to mess around )

if you're on 8, and you're not an enterprise user, there is nothing 8 has that 10 doesn't. I understand staying on 7 but theres zero use for 8 now

I'm not even sure you can say early adopter because its been out for months already

I have a gaming PC to play games on.
I have a Netbook for work as a test computer / for troubleshooting
I have a Laptop just to have on the go
I have a HTPC with WMC that's my DVR
I have a desktop with 6 3TB WD Red Drives in it in a raid array It was an old PC i re-purposed for that. I use it to stream media and dump all my media on it.

All of them have Windows 8.1 on them.

Some people are getting the download when the run this command in the command prompt as admin: wuauclt.exe /updatenow
Wait a few mins and checking for updates in the control panel

I got denied on one of my PCs. It said it'll let me know when I can get it. I'm gonna try the other PCs.
