Warez? If Microsoft disabled it data may have gotten swept up intone info they send anti piracy groups.
I think MS is more concerned about their own software from a legal action perspective....but they will disable anything and pass on info to anti piracy groups if they see fit.
@StatUS MS will hault anything. Luckily this dude didn't have MS Office that went bad before he could use an activator again to make it good...he would have to comitt that after court settlement.
Just wait until Hollywood and the music industry go HAM with MSFT scanning data. And People are going to get fined unless they download at Starbucks, no personal identifiers in the comp, and never use home/cellular Internet....but watch MS still disable movies & music next time they get online.

You @d me because a guy couldn't get a 16 year old game to run on a modern OS .
Happens all the time. Hated that my pirated Fallout 3 couldn't run on 8, years ago
But like I said everything just pertains to their services. Here's the list

Yeah if you fukk with any of those M$ will get you.
But if you also believe that they are scanning millions of hard drives around the world to round every pirate up into interment camps then just go to another OS and I probably wouldn't recommend giving Google or Apple any business either.

Im used to windows 7...the 8s looked unappealing to me so I didn't know they disabled software. Windows 10 caught my eye.
My thing is that you need a doing dirt laptop like a hacker now in days. And use a vpn at McDonald's wifi so they can't match location & pick you up off of the cameras.
It's not like back in the day when only massive uploaders got the business. They also want people that download content now in days.
pirated game which ive purchased on nearly every other format
and yeah why wouldn't I? why would I want an OS that scans and auto updates without letting me know what files its putting onto my pc?
North Korean government probably drolling over windows 10 since it has a backdoor built in update & scanning wise.
3rd world countries gonna say they know what's best for people with modified versions of windows10 that will wreak havoc on documents that speak bad about the government.

yeah, and it is probably a compatibility issue that has nothing to do with it being pirated. I think the Steam version of FF7 has been updated to work on modern OS's

these dudes all want to front like anyone cares about the petty shyt they do. it reminds me of when people were acting like the police would kick down your door if you smoked a blunt in front of kinect
it's already been pointed out that M$ has only taken steps to prevent people from pirating their software (word, office, etc)
MS has always preached that if people are going to be pirating software, they want the pirates to use their products as it builds familiarity, brand recognition, etc so when it does come time to purchase a computer, software, they will buy MS products.

Full office is expensive. Be4 you just re activate with kms once the red bar on top shows every 90days. You don't think people get office warez for school & work?
Plus I'm sure they will take issue with quickbooks and Adobe softwares....that's expensive stuff as well.
Guess you never had warez windows 7 and warez office 2010 back in the day...brothas whole computing experinces were torrents on bare bones systems.
