It doesn't make logistical sense to buy a fleet of trucks that will get very occasional use every couple of years. Remember it's not just the initial cost. You have to have somewhere to store them, cover the cost of keeping them maintained and operationally ready, and have people who are willing and knowledgeable in operating them. And you gotta convince everyone that it's worth investing in.

Id rather have them sitting in random warehouse somewhere than to not have them... Always be prepared...:ld:

My brother, 4 days over 90? Are you retarded? It is regularly above 90degrees here in the summer :why:
No it's not.

I've seen y'all forecasts. Y'all get humidity but northern summer is like southern winter. You get a few days of bad and then a week or two of nice. Cycle repeats. It doesn't stay hot all day, every day.

Southern hot means you're above 90 from Cinco de Mayo until damn near Halloween.

Ginger Zee be on GMA talking about "we have a heatwave in New York City with temps at 92 degrees from now until Friday before a cool down." Meanwhile nikkas in Houston, Dallas and NOLA be like "damn that sounds nice as fukk."

It's a tale of two seasons.

Down south prioritizes prep for heat while up north prioritizes prep for cold.

That's why the north looks foolish when they get 4 days of temps above 90 and the south looks foolish when they get 4 days below 30 with snow/ice.
Not a good comparison, a better one would be how the north is unequipped to deal with basic hurricanes that Southern states normally ride out

Summers are very hot and humid in the Northeast

I'm gonna have to disagree with that. I say prepare within reason. Imo it would be unreasonable to have the same cold weather resources as somewhere like Michigan. In the past we've been able to manage the rare cold weather emergencies. Repairs and loss of services/business may cost some money but if it's =/< a fleet of plows and salt trucks then fukk it. And thing is; even if we had the resources there's no guarantee that it would mitigate this situation
