The framerate on the xb1 is suppose to be better than on the ps4. So experiences playing on the xb1 and the ps4 will be different.

Xbox
few other changes affect aspects of The Witcher 3's visuals. Texture filtering is downgraded during the early tutorial sequence - dropping to something that looks akin to 4x anisotropic filtering. With no patch installed, textures across the castle pathways are simply clearer at tight camera angles. However, we went to great lengths to test this after the tutorial section, and the difference disappears entirely between patch and unpatched versions. Outside in the White Orchard area, both use an absolutely identical form of filtering across the ground, and we suspect this setting may scale up and down based on the area.

Shadows also take a minor hit. Even accounting for variances in cloud positions (causing lighting to shift across plains), a perfect match in the time of day shows shadows are missing in spots on patch 1.01. This is likely related to optimising draw distances on Xbox One, as most patches of shade eventually fade in on approach - it's simply the case that the rendering range isn't as far-reaching as The Witcher 3's vanilla state. As a result, dithering is easier to catch on the patched release, at points where shadows make a transition to a fully filled-out state as you walk forward.

On balance, this downgrade only stands out when placing both versions side-by-side, especially given that the switch occurs at quite a distance. The only exception to this is around the Witcher's castle training ground - where foliage produces heavier shade across castle walls. Matching woodland shots also show a slight tail-off in the shadow density the further we look into the thickets, though quality up-close is the same. Besides these cases, it's clear CD Projekt makes an effort to improve Xbox One's performance during play, while not detracting too much from the visuals.

Ps4
PDATE 19/5/15 14:03: We've now had the opportunity to test the 1.01 patch on PlayStation 4, and can report that the FMV stuttering issue introduced in the Xbox One day one patch is much less of an issue on the Sony platform - video playback is much more consistent. Engine visual settings appear to be a match between the two consoles but curiously, the PS4 version does appear to run with a capped 30fps, giving a more consistent update than its Xbox One counterpart. We can also confirm native 1080p resolution throughout. We'll have head-to-head performance tests online as soon as possible.

We can agree to disagree breh. The framerate in like two areas in Bloodborne is awful and worse than anything in TW3 but otherwise I think framerate wise Bloodborne is consistently a bit better. The camera is fine in Bloodborne except for some boss fights where you get stuck in a tight area - in TW3 it feels off almost all of the time.
Its not something we can agree to disagree on. Its a technical issue, and its there. It may not bother you, but it exists. Only on PS4 does W3 drop frames during gameplay. Xbox one stays at or above 30. PC obviously depends on your hardware, but its fairly easy to get a consistent framerate.

As far as the camera goes. W3's problem is that it doesn't truly lock on to enemies in the way it does in bloodborne, so you have to manage it more during combat. Also turn down your sensitivity if you have not already. I got mine all the way on zero.

Can you honestly tell me you think the combat in TW3 is in anyway comparable quality wise to Bloodborne?
No. I like the combat in bloodborne better. But I can also admit that the combat/controls aren't as smooth and fluid as other games.

nikkas wanna cry about everything like some females. If you listen to the coli 2k15 is the worst sports game in the history of gaming, gtav was 3/10, and witcher is average at best.

People in here expecting the combat to be on mortal kombat level :snoop:

Negs
- You can't choose race
(mage etc)

- Camera sensitivity
(which you can just turn down)

- Movement
(it takes getting used to after 3 hours in I'm used to it but should be been better. Feels unreasponive. And the main guy feels like a feather he run od fast but I got use to it already.)

-Gameplay bugs
(with a game this size idk how anyone didn't expect any. Way more polished than sskyrimi by miles ahea. I came across two bugs so far. horse was under a tent I got on him and the cam came up and I couldn't see the horse at all I got off it and called it from under tent and I was good. Another I stepped in the water and dude just was stuck there I had to reload save. I'm only on first zone so keep in mind)

-Framerate
(You can see the frame drops on Some cutscenes esp beginning)

These are the issues. The game just released and the devs already said their patching the frame stutter, gameplay bugs will obvi be patched, movement could be fixed too but I'm use to it by now I would rather it be the same or imma have to readjust.

Everything else about the game is fire. read any review along walong with the negs I wrote and that's a 100 legit review. The game is sooo run its easy to overlook all the negs. Right now it's a 9/10 id say.
How I change the camera sensitivity?

That's what annoys me.

My girl was dizzy as fukk watching me play lol

Detroit You bytch Ass nikka
This shyt is cold, and unlike Skyrim and shyt, it has been able to hold my attention so props to that. However, I cant see how you nikkas say this shyt has "GREAT" graphics :what:, unless yall are giving props for "art direction" I think the game looks wayyyyy too plastic like and cartoony. The skin textures look plastic like, so does background items, plants, trees, ect. I have not been impressed with the graphics of any of the latest releases on PS4. Maybe this is only a problem to me cause im waiting on more "real life" looking graphics (this game looks shytty compared to Far Cry 4 which has been most impressive to me out of everything I have played). Dying Light's graphics were garbage as hell also (only other recent game I have) and for them to be taking a real life approach, IDK why they could not have better graphics in Dying Light. I hate seeing plastic like skin textures in this day and age, shyt really irks me low key.

The controls were fine in Bloodborne, I don't remember anyone complaining about them. Ditto for pop-up. The framerate was garbage in like two areas, whereas its consistently average to poor in this game.

I know you hate Sony but you know damn well that the gameplay, camera and combat in Bloodborne is polished to the nth degree in comparison to the Witcher 3.
Frame rate is fine on PC. fukkouttahere

Game is DAI but with slightly better combat and a more unique story/world.

It has a lot of problems that people will overlook because its open world.

:patrice:

If you don't like the combat in "DA:I"....and you don't like the combat in this....open world RPGs probably aren't your cup of tea.

Also there's nothing unique about the story and world in this game. It's generic as fukk if you've paid attention to any fantasy novels of the last....oh I dunno, 100 years.

"DA:I" is generic too, but that's another topic.

Feels like a lot of the time you can just go in, smash some buttons and then run away. Rinse and repeat. Maybe it gets more difficult/varied as you go along. :manny:

This is 100% wrong unless you're playing on the easiest setting, or haven't played much. I'm still early in the game, level 5, and if you try that "button mashing" shyt with any human enemies you'd die in like 5 seconds because they parry and block your attacks. You have to parry/block and look for an opening.

Combat is completely different, which I pointed out. The quest style and basic gameplay is very similar, lots of fetch me this and fetch me that.

This is wildly inaccurate too. In 5 levels I've protected farmers from undead, helped a woman in love with a monster, killed a monster kidnapping kids, ran into an old acquaintance from a previous game with a bounty on his head, etc.

A couple quests were "go get X, I'll give you Y" but to act like that's the bulk of the game play is :what:

Again, unless you've just started playing.

Fred.
