With NO knowledge/experience, can you get into the coding/programming industry?

Lol naw naw naw naw naw. I meant I'm willing to shell out the funds and go to school for it.
Intellectually it's very little I don't think I can do when I apply myself, I'm moreso worried about if the politics is super heavy in that industry. I have tattoos and a deep voice. Plus I'm growing my plaits back out.

IT is kinda broad but I can speak from a software engineer's perspective.

Politics are in every corporate industry and if you want to climb that ladder you're going to have to play ball at some point. The good thing about engineering is that you don't really have to do that as demand for them is very high if you're experienced. If you're just trying to get paid the best option is usually to jump jobs a few years anyway so if you really feel like politics is holding you back from where you are, jump ship.

Hardest part is getting your foot in the door when you don't have any experience. This is one of the reasons I think school is actually beneficial for this field. Many of my first opportunities were internships that I got from events and resources that the school hosted and provided.

Good luck, lots of competition shyt they are even teaching kids how to code in public schools here elementary kids. Just take a coding course and use that knowledge to build your own apps so you dont need to work for anyone.

No, they will ask you about data structures and computer science shyt.

"I have an array and I want to be able to transverse through the array n times. Can you write up a code that will do that?"

With no knowledge idk why you are wasting your time lol. Read up on computer science, data structures, different programming languages, create several projects then apply for jobs.

OP i don't understand. :dwillhuh:

When you say no knowledge and no experience, are you asking can you go from knowing nothing to applying for a job today?:dwillhuh:

The answer to that is emphatically hell no. What I would suggest is that you go learn and get your skills up, homie.

Then you can apply once you learn.
"Can I play varsity if I can't dribble, shoot, or pass?"
"Can I be in jazz band if I don't know how to play an instrument?"
"Can I be a pornstar if I never had sex?"

Did you go to a tech school, university, what?
And does it make a difference?

I don't know shyt about shyt. But this year I plan on taking up a trade and figured why not this one, that shyt nom contact.

Again, I don't know nothing about nothing when it comes to that industry but Ive always been book smart. But my question is , if I've never shown any interest in this type of stuff (computers and what not) my entire life, is it a wise idea too look at this trade?

I'm not expecting to make a certain amount, like I said I'm completely blind, I just want a cert to fallback on cuz I ont trust the peckerwoods at my gig.

Are there any mega threads on this?

Plz. Rep pending
Learn Python in 100 days thread

Start learning to code now and build a resume with projects. This is a very long term goal because programming takes time and commitment.

Which reminds me, for anyone doing interviews, here's a resource I found... its a youtbe video on one person's strategy for brushing up on the technical interviews, plus a spreadsheet of the common interview coding sessions with answers

"How I Got Good at Coding Interviews"

He included a bunch of links in the description. The main one is his spreadsheet:

Edit: You can embed google sheets into a post? Cool

PM this spread sheet

Seriously breh. Homeboy threw me ALL the way off with this question. I'm over here trying to break into the software industry and I'm a smart dude and this is the hardest thing I've done in my life. I'm studying every day for months and I'm struggling.

And breh just randomly making threads ":jbhmm: ya know, I've never tried it before, never studied it, don't know anything about it. But im pretty smart. Yall think I could apply for a job today or nah?"

I'm like :mjtf:

I almost wanna neg him :mjlol:
