In all honesty, Guwop's influence on the Rap game from '05 - '08 >>>>> Biggie's influence from '94-'97

in what way ?in what way ?
Mike Will Made It, Zaytoven, Lex Luger, Nicki Minaj, Oj Da Juiceman, 1017 Bricksquad, Trap, Lingo... Biggie was just a great rapper but outside of that he didnt really impact anything as far as the artist he signed except for Lil Kim and he didnt really create a new style lyrically (Wu Tang, Nas before him) and he didnt really inspire anything new as far as production style either... again, great rapper but thats where it begins and ends for him

we don't have a new Chicago artist in the mainstream....
that is as technically gifted as a writer with content as Gucci.
on top of most of the stuff,...
that gets gateway traction is all a lift of future/yc's racks.
if Chicago got behind more of the smoke'n ride artist who populate outwest.
it could possibly find its new gangsta rap draw that had traction.
instead of piggy backing off of being a soldier boi admin based a&r project.
as out west has its own culture, and actualized urban landscape to provide something new.
art barr
Bruh that's not just Chicago. Atl is full of people from everywhere.Half the ATL is made up of people from Chicago in the first place. When a dude from the CHI visits Atlanta it's a family reunion for us. We deep as hell down there since the 80's at least. Some of these little kids running around Atlanta right now, parents or grandparents come from the CHI or Midwest/East Coast not to mention the people who still move down there from the CHI till this day starting families and literally fathering atliens. Them dudes in the Atlanta are decendants of reverse black migration from north-to-south and they'd be a completely different city without that influx.
Atlanta is not really organic, their style comes from Northerners migrating down south and mixing with locals. Not knocking Atlanta but Northerners especially from the Midwest helped shaped their identity in the first place. Plus for many years Atlanta was accused of taking crunk from Memphis so Atlanta has always been a mix of influences, not some kind of organic cultural hub. This coming from a dude whose been down there several times, and got fam down there.

I rocks with atl, but these new guys coming outta there are mostly sissies.![]()

You can go to atl for a weekend and not even meet a person that's actually born in atl.
yea, atlanta is a migration city period. virginia and north carolina as well.
atlanta even moreso than them because atlanta is also the black entertainment mecca. its been that way for well over 2 decades now.

a lotta truth right thereAtlanta is not really organic, their style comes from Northerners migrating down south and mixing with locals. Weak music, weak sales, odes to strippers and whores, blatant biting, simple raps, fake gangsters, real gangsters implicating themselves... yall can have this era
Or maybe Troy Ave
I dont deny this at all, I think I have said as much actually. What does the East have to do with this? Rap in general sucks right now.The east coast was heading to a similar direction post 50 Cent. You want Uncle Murda or Maino be the #1 artist? Or how bout Papoose?Or maybe Troy Ave
By the mid 00s, the NY scene was a shadow of its former self compared to the 90s.
