no, hip-hop is a culture started in the streets of black and latino america. and as far as i know, most hip-hop producers are black and most hip-hop executives are black. and hip-hop is musical journalism charting the black experience, an art form that is still quite profitable for independent artists who fall under no white corporate umbrella. when you can find me a black sports industry that operates independently of white corporate executives, this comparison may contain some merit. whites have tried to steal and exploit this culture, but they haven't been successful.

all you talk about in the colliseum is professional sports, which i consider to be a slave industry that exploits black men. that's why i don't visit that forum. if you check my post history, i'm active in the booth and higher learning, while still participating in the locker room, too.

i know, it's funny, right? i'm not saying whites haven't tried. but you're attempting to draw similarities between my description of professional sports and hip-hop. when you can show me profitable independent black sports teams, you might have a point.

I'm not attempting to do that all...

what I find funny is that you don't think white folks have been successful trying to steal and exploit hip-hop culture.

For me honestly, I rarely go in the booth. I just feel that rap music sucks these days and ain't feeling most of the cats that came out after drake started gaining a buzz. Other than kendrick, I ain't really feeling much rap unless they been in the game for a while. I find myself listening to radio hits, rap and others, or older rap more often. Colisseum, I tend to just check out heat and Marlins threads. Too many team threads and game threads that don't really interest me. I just stick to tlr, arcadium, and tsc for the fukkery. I pop into hl to see if the guys got any new stock tips to bless us with or get advice on a stock or if any news topics catch my interest. And only usually hit up jbo if hallow or I think it's unit321, is blessing us with a what would you do thread. Jason Terry been giving plenty of guys nightmares in those threads.

don't respect the athletes, either. .
:ehh: why not?

granted, the money they make aint shyt compared to the money thats made off sports in the grand scheme. but these dudes, for the most part, do better than 98% of the country. bust their asses to stay in incredible fukkin shape. i dont see how they arent to be respected for takin advantage of an opportunity

i would think that a dude who presents the views on here that u do, would look at a dude like richard sherman and respect that he was able to hit the entire white america with the :umad:

because all they are is equipment. they're not respected for anything else. that's why you have white fans of professional teams going on twitter and saying racist things about these black athletes the minute they even attempt to speak their mind on any number of issues or just try to show that they're human beings. it's why you have roger goodell and david stern (who has since retired) dictating how these black men can act, when their talent is the fukking reason goodell and stern even have jobs.

i don't mean to dismiss their physical and mental talents, though i find it hard to respect their decision to play professional sports. i know that it's a rigorous challenge to even compete at that level, and i have to acknowledge that. but when you see how little respect the owners have for the players, how little freedom the players have to just let their black identities shine through this false veneer established by the league, you understand that that professional sports is just a prettied up slave industry.
