I was responding to the dude who said NYC didn't nurture other eastern cities' talent.

Bleek has like 3 gold albums and Wais P from Da Rainjahz is putting out fire with DJ Premier nowadays.

Naw, he ain't say that...he said NYC didn't nurture THEIR OWN talent. What you said didn't have to do with that...

A few things happened to NY that they caused themselves.

1. They eat their young. Whenever a new rapper comes up, the older ones don't help them out. They also try and destroy each other rather than building each other up. Southern vets build up younger artists and show them the ropes.

2. They didn't let other east coast talent shine. East coast is more than NYC, they didn't support of other cities like the South does. ex: N.O. ATL, HOU, MIA, etc. all support each other.

3. Outside of a few producers...their production was hot garbage. Other regions were bringing better production. 50 cent over a Dr. Dre beat>> 50 over an east coast producers beat. The south's production goes without saying.

Read number 2.

its kinda cute how every other state has to form Voltron in order to "compete" with our stature. (its still no competition....but hilarious nonetheless)

Hiphop has it's cycles. NYC birthed it, West Coast had it bubblin, the South then made an impact. Just recognize we started it and continue in some capacity to be in it. We know the South controls the "sound" and we've been :flabbynsick: but without us ain't no blueprint.

You know its funny, these west coast nikkas direct more hate towards us then we have ever done towards anybody and do the same exact shyt they been accusing us of from day one.

It would be better if nyc dropped dead? Yeah well give it a few more years and the Mexicans will have either killed off or chased you nikkas out ya own hoods anyway.

Calm down, cuzz - this isn't hate...it's the truth.

I mean, do you all want to take credit for the "direction" hip-hop went?

...and why did hip-hop stop following NYC's "direction", or did it?

real talk: most of the people i've seen talmbat NYC fell off are NYCers. Y'all need to see what your collective viewpoint is...
