I have no idea what the Bulls did back in the day. I just know what we need right now. Vinny is the coach for the rest of the season so what you're saying is moot. Trading Caron for an athletic defender would've been a good look

Don't get it twisted I've seen Caron have some nice shooting games but they're far and in-between plus he misses like one out of every three games. We need DEFENSE breh!! We have shooters galore, Crawford will more than make up for any lack of shooting. I was at the Utah game on Saturday and Odom was looking like he was back on the Lakers again! Along with Paul, Billups, and Barnes we got shooting down. I want defensive stops in the worst way for this team. Ariza is not a franchise player but he fills a defensive role that we desperately need. I don't know about you but I can't watch another game where we give up 15 threes or another Spurs playoff sweep. A guy like him with his wingspan can at least cut that total in half plus grab some boards and make 2-4 buckets a game. That's what we need. not another chucker

Man cats don't want to hear this logic though. We need more grit and grind and less flash and sexy. Plus like you said he's been in big games and won a ring. We need "hands up" defense and rebounding right now, especially against the elite teams in the league.

And who are these players you speak of? I would say Grant Hill if he was 10 years younger but we have no shut down perimeter defender on the team. And i'm not mad at Caron.. He is what he is. But trading him for a athletic younger defender is a good look for us to make a deeper playoff run.

ariza's defense is not ELITE, its GOOD but not ELITE, and if we are going to have a significant drop off in our offensive flow because we are trying to improve our perimeter d, then we better get an ELITE defender, not a good one...bring in tony allen for that shyt, not no fukking ariza.

Lol @ this one dude saying they're giving up a shooter/scorer for Ariza and that's not worth it. They have plenty of scoring options. They need someone to hustle and do the dirty work, plus is reliable in the clutch. Barnes can hustle, but he will let them down in the biggest moments. We've seen what Ariza does in the playoffs in big moments.

I hear you but Barnes and Odom give out good energy on defense but they still primarily focus on scoring.. and getting a elite defender wasn't on the table. Ariza for Caron was on the trade table. and I'm not blaming Caron solely for giving up threes, it is a team effort all I'm saying is that Caron for Ariza is a good move in my book for this team right now. That's it, nothing else. You say we need more shooters, well we're gonna have to figure out how to change the rules so we can play with two basketballs during the game then. Crawford is the equivalent of three shooters all by his lonesome in my book. we'll just have to agree to disagree. nothing you say is going to convince me on this one.

-and I'm getting worried by all this chemistry talk. I love the fact that our guys get along and have fun off the court but we might be creeping into being too friendly and too buddy-buddy with each other. Hill's still solid, but he's 40, can get hurt at any time and isn't as good of a spot-up shooter as Ariza. Doesn't have the same speed either.
