He just repeated, he got that UConn job for life now. And he said his wife don't want to leave the east coast because of family, that bag would have to be insane to pull him out of Storrs.
No offense to his wife but she def seems like she’s on the jersey shore bimbo tip. I feel like the allure of LA sleaze, as a neutral party, has to supersede New Jersey.

I know she’s turned down jobs like Kentucky bc it’s in Kentucky, but LAL is prob the first role he’s been offered that’s a life improvement over her section of the NE

…what?

Stevens was a great coach :dead:
If they raised the talent level at the end of his tenure like he’s done as the exec, they would’ve def got a ring at some point in the 2020s by now
He was so great they made him quit and take an office job :comeon: Great coaches don’t just leave a job in their prime :heh:

He underachieved with the roster. Udoka took them to new heights.

Yeah, Stevens was a good coach but has been an even better executive
Yeah, I don’t know how to argue that he didn’t deserve that job or “failed upwards”. shyt is just insane. He had one of the best college runs as a mid major HC this century and Boston wanted something fresh. When it came time for the exec spot, he spent almost a decade there and intimately knew their centerpieces and the challenge of getting talent into Boston

That was a completely moronic comment.

:whew:

This rumor dropping on the day the Finals starts is crazy.
nikkas predicted the news would drop game 1 or 2 so Lakers can pull some shyt off without everyone's attention focused on them

If this was postseason we'd be hearing about it 24/7 already

Maybe he was even better for them in the office position

Just because you have a job you're good at doesn't mean it's where you'll maximize your potential

It’s a combination of both.

Stevens was a good coach and he definitely maximized what he had during the IT years, but as the team got higher expectations and more pressure to win he struggled with managing personalities. By the end of his tenure he had lost the locker room

The roster wasn’t good by the end - they didn’t recover from missing on Kyrie and Hayward. It takes 5 seconds to look up the 2020 roster, his last season.

Udoka was def better than Stevens was at the end, but he also got the benefit of the young guys (Nesmith, Grant, Rob, etc) taking that next step. Also got Derrick White for the back half of his first year, who was honestly better than just about anyone Ainge got for Stevens the previous 4 years. The biggest pro I’ll give Udoka is that he was a way better defensive guy - that gave them the identity they still have today

I can see that. Udoka is an “alpha” type personality that made dudes adjust how they operated. Idk if Brad had the personality for that. He definitely got undermined by the toxicness of the Kyrie tenure. That being said, Udoka is a great coach and especially seems to be a great guy for building a foundation. I don’t think that makes Stevens bad.
