So you're just going to skip when I said if her TikTok usage was the reason for her termination, then they'd have to fire EVERY person in that company who posts on TikTok.

When it comes to salary discussion, the medium is irrelevant, which is clearly stated by federal law.

But continue to lick those boots breh.

If it's really that complicated for you, "a company can't specifically mandate that you can't use social media to discuss salary discussion".

fukking idiot
Glad you finally realized it was tik tok and not wage discussion that got her fired. Tik toking is not protected by law so they can fire whoever they want for any reason they want.

That's what at will employment is dumb ass. If they don't like your tik TikTok they can fire you. They dont gotta give any specific reason they don't like it. You tik tok and use social media at your own risk. Whether it's fair has nothing to do with whether it's legal. Elon musk post things on his social media that he would fire his employees for posting.

And the company has not released any statement so all of this is going off her own clout chasing ass tik tok story of what happened. She herself said in the story the company questioned her judgment. And that's likely the only official documented reason she got.

Exactly. If everyone kept upholding this don't ask don't tell policy when it comes to money, I would have never known I was making 30-40% less than I actually should be at my level. This caused me to leave and make another 25k more somewhere else. Companies want employees to be in the dark so they can underpay those who don't know what they're worth. I'm all for wage transparency
Was you old pay around $60k and are you currently making around $85k - $90k?

They never said wage discussion was the sole reason they fired her. They cited her usage of tik tok and multiple videos. Thats two separate things. Tik tok usage is not protected by law idiot.

Suits against employers like this are extremely hard to prove and normally require a smoking gun or audio or something front them explicitly saying this is the sole reason they fired you (ie cause you are black etc.)
This 100%.

It's why employers track everything you do on their computers. They don't give a shyt if you surf the web as long as nothing crazy happens. The minute you put the company on blast publicly or do something "obvious", they'll dig up anything they can find.

She should have taken the time after getting fired to trash the tech company in question. Should be illegal to be fired for discussing wages and I hope she sues and wins millions.

If it is your contract not to mention your wages, she has no case. Also, it's in my company contracts don't talk about your wages.

We had that in our contract for our bonuses when I worked for a hedge fund.

Get your money and do your job!
That is illegal in America :snoop:

You obviously never signed or know about comprehensive NDAs.

If you working for a hedge fund, some things can not be talked about.

It's not illegal!

Anything in your NDA package means can't be talked about period!
The law is still the law bro. A company can't break the law just because they wrote a contract. A good enough lawyer is getting you paid for signing and working under those terms:snoop:

I could be wrong but i have a feeling these people don't reveal their salary to empower others or for transparency. I think it's more out of ego.

At the end of the day, it all depends on if the employer has a clause stating you can't discuss salaries.
