I think they are stuck on what’s fair and what SHOULD be instead of facing reality and what really is

Poverty and homelessness only gonna make these type of crimes more frequent. Most affected people are black.
no, im addressing the overwhelming and direct sentiment in here that we need a new crime billI think you're missing the overall point here which is that the more this happens and the more people are victimized, the more desperate they become for immediate solutions, whether those solutions might negatively impact law-abiding Black people is an afterthought, the concern at the fore is getting the criminals off the street before they're the next victims.

other than that i dont seen any solutions, just ruminating on how terrible black people are. so honestly, if theres another point, i'll admit its escaping me
how terrible *criminals are.
The point is, victims shouldn't be tasked with solving a problem they're being plagued with and they should also not be judged for supporting measures that ostensibly make them safer.
Like you said, what should happen and what is reality isn’t the same, so again what’s the solution? Because crime will always be a thing.
And a crime bill does the exact thing you say you don’t want to happen. Support it all you want.
All I’m saying is that the logic of wanting a crime bill so black people wont be lumped in with criminals makes no sense and is backwards. We’re literally dealing with the effects of that right now and clearly the crime bill didn’t fix us last time.

The reality is that people are beyond tired of being on the wrong side of guns and that reality is what will shape people's tolerance of whatever solutions are drafted. I'm not suggesting that crime bills that ultimately impact law-abiding citizens is a logical solution but desperation doesn't necessarily lead to logical solutions. People want something done about these criminals by any means necessary.

This. Hate thar she got robbed but on the scale of atrocious acts this is very mild. That looked harmless but shytty never the less
The problem is that the crime bill both directly and indirectly affected law-abiding Black citizens.
