Cautionary tales need to be told but I wish this site would ban stories like this.
Jerk off material for folks that enjoy other's misfortune.

As for the killers, 0 impulse control. If they bothered to think through, they'd realise that risking life over $400 isn't worth it. Sad thing is, they could have easily killed someone who had nothing to do with their bullshyt as a bullet struck the car of a mother with her baby.

This is what I tell people who think more dramatic punishments have anything whatsoever to do with violent crime.

People who commit violent crimes are not thinking about the consequences. They're not projecting whether a 45 year sentence is worse than a 25 year one, or how nice the cell is going to be, or whether they'll get the death penalty. The impulsive ones don't think for shyt when that moment arises, they just act.

Read your own article. He knew about the robbery attempt beforehand. He’s aiding a crime. He didn’t tell the police beforehand.

She didn’t bring a gun. There was no expectation of violence with her crime. The felony is from the party who pulled the weapon.

People swap stuff all the time. Cops tell you to be wary of this in the first place. Meeting strangers.

400 bucks is small claims court level stuff.

You just want her to be punished for her stupidity and recklessness.
No fraud, no shooting. Proximate cause. They held her responsible for the death already. She’s just lucky they didn’t apply murder instead of manslaughter

The other party brought a gun to what they thought was a legal swap. The intent to harm legally (aka premeditation) is on them. That’s they why the harsher premeditation case isn’t going to happen to the woman in this situation.

They could have just beaten her up and grabbed the money back. It’s not the 1 to 1 situation you want it to be.

I'd be fine with her getting more than 2.5 years in prison. She probably deserves a solid 5 years because her actions put her 12 year old brother in position to be a victim. But it's the "15 years as a registered violent offender" that i have an issue with.

She was a schemer. She should have anticipated the possibility of it getting violent but she did not do anything violent herself. Just my opinion :manny:
