That´s wild the Army is different because your squad of 9 dudes is tight your Platoon is cool (maybe 30 dudes) and your company ( 130 dudes) are ok other than that it´s low key beef. So if you housed some shyt it would be from the Battalion (600 dudes) or someone in a whole nother unit but stealing draws?

There´s Uniform inspections but damn you could wear a thong for all the Army cared.

That´s another thing I seen New Sailors check in in Cracker Jacks and wondered why they bothered if they were on their way to sea. As you know the Uniform is Coveralls and a Hard Hat for most Sailors. I´d assume that if they were checking in on a ship they´d wear the Uniform of the day. Besides after a cruise Coveralls get mad greasy especially the snipes Uniforms.
They make whoever checking in do it in the dress uniform. Its something I was never doing thats why I always checked in after hours in civies and just reported the next day in the working uniform. You really had to curate your circle because the navy moved toward trying to play sailors against each other for eval rankings. I kept an extremely small circle of people a trauma bonded with from the beginning and thats who I ran with my entire career other shipmates be damned. That type of culture they were pushing bred hate at rates I have never seen and never subscribed to. I made my name off being an SME in aviation life support and I guarded that reputation savagely. As long as what I was saying was based on the NAMP I couldnt be touched

Yeah you´d think people would put new sailors up on game show up in Civvies and come to work in the appropriate uniform. nikkas don´t look Uniform with all the others in Coveralls and a random in cracker jacks at muster. Signals to everyone that he´s the new guy.

Sea Donkeys get labeled that for a reason and those never existed in my orbit. those are for the ones who are desperate/cant pull........
Same in the Army. There was this one chick she wasn´t technically bad looking it just seemed like her facial features was off to one side so it made her look crazy.

One time there was a CLP in Iraq meaning going from base to base not a combat mission and shorty saw us off like we were going to storm the beach at Normandy or something. She had on the tightest Uniform I ever seen and nikkas was like I ain´t been here long enough to want to hit that.

I saw this and was confused. I mean this has been a thing for years. We went to King’s Bay, Ga for a field trip and toured a submarine when I was in high school… it was an automatic no for me. Maybe you should’ve done something else with your life :yeshrug:

Once I made E-5… I made sure I had a middle rack especially for deployment. You roll right in that MF and it’s easy to open when you bout to shyt shower and shave after your 12 hour watch… top rack is cool cause it’s no ceiling.. just hard to see inside when you need to get things

Yeah when I went to my quals half my instructors were Civ ex Navy or Sailors It was a decent job. Actually shorty was in your position she wanted to go to sea and stay Norfolk and they demanded that she take a shore job in SD. I think part of the reason was she just didn´t want to go to SD she wanted to stay in Virginia. I guess the issue was Big Navy didn´t want to change her orders. She seemed to be what we call in the army ¨High Speed¨ because she was an E6
Yeah I knew the detailer (person who cut orders) and he did me a “favor” (I guess) by giving me the orders I got because I wanted to go travel and shyt and not sit at a desk all day.

But hindsight 20/20. I liked SD enough to stay, and I was already doing some of the teaching shyt (which is why they offered me that spot) but I felt like it was going to be a headache with moving, shipping shyt, and I would only have like a week to do all that once I got back so I just said fukk it, I already had the orders I had.

But more than one way to skin a cat. She got to do her thing regardless It seems. I ended up leaving that detail anyway because it was stupid shyt. Like if motherfukkers knew you were trying to get deployed they would do whatever they could to make sure you don’t and only send the people they wanted (or those that didn’t want to go out).

I was trying to get my Sea quals and shyt but gave up after a while and was just ready to leave.

Exactly

The coffin locker is also your main storage so imagine having to hover overtop or squat down below.

Mid rack was perfect to me. We had chairs in berthing If you wanted to sit up but I can see the perks of a top one I guess.

Also there was mold up top that motherfukker so I was like hell naw afterwhile.
