It's called insurance. Just because you're "in a monogamous relationship" with a female doesn't mean it will last forever or that it will ultimately be a successful one. So there's nothing wrong with having platonic, friendly casual relationships with women or randomly keeping in touch with prior, past sexual hook-ups in such a way that doesn't break the boundaries, jeopardize or betray the trust of a dedicated, committed union.
