Sometimes women just want to be left alone...like you.
Men can't respect this.

You see a woman getting off the train, crying (who knows why she's crying? Maybe her father just passed away and she found out coming home from work right before her stop), are you gonna tell her to smile when obviously she doesn't want to talk to you, be bothered, and is obviously in a bad mood?

Whenever i've told a woman to smile it was usually an attempt to get a convo going that hopefully would lead to me smashing in the very near future :manny:

Very honest answer, I'm sure most women know that anyone asking them to smile isn't genuinely concerned with their happiness or wellbeing.

Which is why a lot of them find it offensive. A lot of them also are inexplicably attracted to mildly offensive shyt..

I don't think it's offensive, but it is annoying. For the record, I am a woman. Depends on what I'm doing and how I'm feeling that day. If I'm in a rush to get somewhere and I know I'm about to walk into something hectic (example: I was called in to work on my first day off after a 12 day stretch of work, during the holidays--in retail--when a guy stopped me as I walked to clock in telling me "you need a smile on that face instead of looking so mad") then I'm focused. Me not smiling isn't because I'm in a bad mood, but you'll put me in a bad mood by being in my way and jumping to conclusions.

Because I don't exist to make you comfortable :pacspit: Mofos only said that shyt as a line to get the drawls. If you want them so bad, how about you say something to make me smile?! Since I'm already having a bad freakin day :birdman:

It also used to feel either like a command or as a shaming tactic.

You too cute to be frowning like that  (So I'm only attractive when I'm lit up like a jack o lantern? :stopitslime:)

Why don't you give a smile? :ld:

Why don't you get the hell outta my face :pacspit:

:whew: That brought back some memories.

Thank everything above men don't say that anymore (or at least to me). It's normally some random small talk now. :manny:

I could see where it is offensive to think that my emotions serve to cater to you. Uh, no. Respect my individuality. I'm in control of me and my emotions, as well as my expression of said emotions.

It's mostly just annoying and kind of a weird thing to say to someone. Why do you think you can or should tell someone how to express themselves, you know? I mean people in general, not directed at anyone in particular here!
