I've got the same female friends for years. I never crossed that line with people I wanted around as friends and we can not talk for months to a year and we still tight. That said I don't make new female friends, just not a point to it at my age it's never about friendship. I can have acquaintances at work etc but realistically I don't get friendship with women past a certain age because most taken serious women don't entertain male friendships.
