Anyway, you need to get out more. Join a club, go to events, get a hobby, go to meetup.com, just talk to everyone and eventually you will meet someone you click with. You live in NYC, you have tons of opportunities there.

Yes my girlfriend has Aspergers. Why yes at times I do. I sometimes really find talking to people chore. I will try to join some clubs maybe. Since I'm in real estate I'm becoming more social but it's just my mask. I'll try to go drinking with co-workers sometime. Maybe that will help.

Conversation comes when you are genuinely interested in the topic or the person you are talking to. If you have no interest in them then you wont have much to talk about. That's why people with asberger's can come across as extremely self-centered and self-absorbed.

Ask questions about the person you are talking to. Listen to their responses, don't just think about your reply. Practice makes perfect. The more you do it, the more you'll get used to it. You can also read or listen to How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie. It's a classic book.

I didn't say you did. People with asberger's have issues with social interactions, so if you do, you can still learn from them or use the same tips they do. It's all relative, really. Just like there are different levels of Asberger's just as theyre are different levels of depression.
