http://jezebel.com/5678737/is-this-the-real-reason-why-zach-galifianakis-booted-mel-gibson

The persistent chatter that Zach Galifianakis's objection got Mel Gibson booted off The Hangover, brought up again today on the Today Show, has so far ignored one aspect of the story: Galifianakis's work with his girlfriend's organization against domestic violence.

It all started when Galifianakis told an interviewer, "I'm in a deep protest right now with a movie I'm working on, up in arms about something. But I can't get the guys to ... I'm not making any leeway." When Hangover 2 was brought up, he refused to give further details.

Although he keeps a low profile about his personal life, Zach Galifianakis is dating Quinn Lundberg (that's them together in the picture up there, on October 28.) Lundberg has a substantial background in public service and founded NGO Growing Voices. Among that NGO's projects is one that is literally close to home for Galifianakis: a project in North Carolina working with survivors of domestic violence.

The director of the film, the guy that cast Gibson in the first place, Todd Philips is Jewish. Filming for Hangover 2 was 3 months after the abuse/racist tapes came out.

He wasn't dropped by his talent agency until after those tapes came out.

Cary Williams & Riley Cooper Fight During Eagles Practice
Cary Williams is one feisty cornerback, even at practice. The offseason acquisition tussled with wide receiver Riley Cooper during 1-on-1 drills early in Thursday's workout as the Eagles continued preparation for their season-opener in Washington on Monday night.

After the two tangled as Cooper tried to run a route, they went face to face. An irate Williams dropped his helmet and shouted at the physical wide receiver before several teammates, including quarterback Michael Vick, broke up the tussle. The incident occurred on the far side of the field and with music playing during Chip Kelly's practice none of the verbal barbs were audible.

Cooper, who was involved in his share of controversy this summer after video of him uttering a racial slur surfaced, walked with his head down for the next several minutes after the encounter. Several assistants chirped in his ear as the drill continued.

Williams needed to walk off the incident on a side field. An animated DeSean Jackson went face to face with the former Raven in what appeared like an attempt to calm him down.

This isn't the first time Williams has been involved in an on-field encounter. He had one last year with Jackson when the Eagles and Ravens played early in the season. Williams was also thrown out of practice earlier this summer for a shoving match with a Patriots wide receiver during joint practices.
