Yeah man when I first started in my career I barely could take a vacation. On my week off I still had to do shyt in the morning for like one hour before I could get on about my day. Then they had the nerve to ask me why I didn't travel somewhere when I got back.
It was a good week though because I had time to self-reflect on the necessity of me moving on from that job as well as spend time with my Woman who back then I was still getting to know.
Now my past two jobs I can work home at least one day a week. shyt takes time and you have to build seniority. This new gig I just got pays more but way too many meetings as they are just starting the department.
No sooner than I got this gig I am getting an inquiry about another place. They are offering me 20k more (10k base and 10k bonus) for a somewhat higher level position. Basically as a professional you'll find yourself playing catch up getting compensated adequately for the level of work you actually do.
I've been performing on a director level for the past 2 years and it's just with this recent role I'm actually getting paid for it. Now with the next potential role I'll actually be on par with my performance level.
nikkas gotta hustle and keep active on the market stay on LinkedIN and play hard ball with these HR losers and recruiters. Don't stay at places just for the fun of it. Whatever level you perform at that's what you need to be paid.
