Mad people used to play back around '05-'08. Nowawadays they probably got about 5 active players.

LoL has that many logging on every 4 days, right now!

Are you comparing League of Legends, a free game, to a game that requires $15 a month to play :dwillhuh:

World of Warcraft is the most profitable game in the history of video gaming, by a large margin

Its an MMO though, put it on X-Box 1 and PS4 and shyt will be the same.

:dwillhuh: multiple MMOs have came out for consoles, they all have flopped. Every single one of them. The only one that might have some success will be Elder Scrolls Online coming out soon.

Coming from a former WoW player... I can tell you those stats are hella inflated. That game at it's peak had 12 million subs, the majority of the accounts are trial accounts or level 1 chinese bots trying to sell you gold.

Final Fantasy XI ain't flop, it was the most profitable game in the series, to the point where they had to make another MMO (which 1.0 did flop, but that never came out on consoles)... just because an MMO doesn't have WoW success doesn't mean it's a flop.

:dwillhuh: everyone who played FFXI played that shyt on the computer and that shyt still isnt top 5 most popular MMO.. if you count the free mmos im not even sure it cracks top 10

:stopitslime: I remember them trying to push keyboards for that shyt for consoles too :stopitslime:

edit: it also says the stats include trial accounts.

the peak was 12 million active subscribers at once (close to 13 million too)

but its sold millions more than that obviously too

1 -WoW
2- Aion
3 - Lineage
4- SWTOR
5- Runescape
6- Second Life
7- Warhammer Online
8- Age of Conan
9- Rift
10- Lord of the Rings
11-Final Fantasy XI
12- Everquest
13- Eve Online
14- Everquest 2

(not typing the rest of that shyt)

....I kinda proved your point but it still did respectable numbers. I think the Elder Scrolls and FFXIV 2.0 should put up good numbers too

.... I only typed paid subs. Should I do free, then Runescape would destroy everything since you can only make one character per account.

Age of Conan sold more than Lineage, Second life and WAY more Warhammer online

I would say sales wise (not counting free runescape)

1. wow
2. SWTOR
3. Age of Conan(I dont know if you knew this, but Age of Conan set the highest amount of pre orders for a game in history at the time.. 900,000 pre orders.. Warhammer never sold 900,000 period)
4. Lineage
5. Lord Of The Rings
6. Lineage 2

and then theres everything else

Elder Scrolls Online is going to almost immediately jump to #2 though. If you count Runescape then you gotta count guild wars / guild wars 2, which move high on the list

you're really underestimating just how popular lineage is in Asia.

that's the game that Koreans were dying over.

the original lineage has made like 2 billion dollars. :whew:
